Why end homelessness? Because we can...
What a difference a day makes
On any given night more than 1600 people are homeless in Pierce County. With the increasing shortage of affordable housing and the steady decrease of wages people are more than ever finding themselves in a situation of homelessness.
Project Homeless Connect is a creative nationwide movement aimed at engaging communities to find solutions for the homeless.
Project Homeless Connect is a one-stop shop connection to services for people experiencing homelessness. Direct access to services are offered on site, including basic medical care, dental care, pet care, haircuts, foot care, assistance in applying for benefits, obtaining identification, vision, and much more.
More than anything else Project Homeless Connect is about civic engagement and making our community a better place for everyone. Volunteer driven, Project Homeless Connect creates human connections between the homeless and other sectors of society.
Our second annual Project Homeless Connect in Tacoma-Pierce County, Washington will be held on October 15th, 2008 at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Center. Come be apart of this exciting program.
