People drove, got a friendly ride, took the bus, and walked their way to Project Homeless. They carried backpacks, suitcases, and bags. The day was cool and wet. Sometimes the downpours were horrendous, but inside the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall the reception was warm and friendly. We had lots of working volunteers, organizations looking us over, tons of information to share, child care, food, warm coffee, medical assistance, and help enough to go around.

People that made their way through the weather left with enough hope to make it through another day . . . and another wet and lonely night.
